InordertobuildanationalcentralcityanddistrictofChinesecivilizationinheritanceandinnovation,Zhengzhouhasdecidedtopromotetheplanningandconstructionof"FiveMajorHistoricalandCulturalBlocks"includingtheCentury-oldDehuaHistoricalandCulturalBlock.Thefivemajorhistoricalandculturalblocksarerespectively:ShangCapitalHistoricalandCulturalBlock,GuxingCanalCulturalBlock,Century-oldDehuaHistoricalandCulturalBlock,ErshaCulturalandCreativePark,andZhengzhouCityCentralCultureDistrict(CCD).

为建设国家中心城市和华夏文明传承创新区，郑州市决定推进包括百年德化历史文化片区在内的“五大历史文化片区”规划建设。这五大历史文化片区分别为：商都历史文化区、古荥大运河文化片区、百年德化历史文化片区、二砂文化创意园区和郑州市中央文化区（CCD）。
